LeeMarvin Ugalde Sr.
LeeMarvin U. Ugalde Sr., 61, Hilo, died May 25, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 7, 1960, in Ninole, he was a retired station manager for Signature Flight Support at Hilo International Airport and a coach for Teddy’s Angels and RSH Rascals.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. July 9 Pepeekeo Community Center for a celebration of life.
He is survived by wife, Rhonda Sabate-Ugalde of Hilo; sons, LeeMarvin (Paticia) Ugalde Jr. of Hilo and Royce (Jessie) Ugalde of Las Vegas; hanai son, Shelby (Jane) Casem of Hawaiian Paradise Park; three grandsons; brothers, Perry Ugalde of Washington, Ernest (Anna) Ugalde and Royden Sabate of Pepeekeo, Valentino Ugalde of Kona, and Ryan (Florence) Sabate of Kaumana; sisters, Jodie Keenan (Sidney) Batin of Honomu, Shelly (Neal) Valentine of Puna, and Megan Piliwale Ugalde of Oahu; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Melody Hill
Melody Dianne Ferenz Hill, 73, died on May 31, 2022 in Washington D.C. Born in Vancouver, Washington, she was a long time Kona resident and retired postal clerk, tennis player and volunteer with Ke Kai Ola Hawaiian Monk Seal Hospital in Kailua-Kona.

She is survived by husband, Howard Hill; son, Nathan Hill of Captain Cook; daughter, Leah Hill (Cade) Crisafi of Silver Spring, Maryland, and one grandchild.

Christian Pearson
Christian Robert Georges Pearson, 75, of Keaau died May 21, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in 1946 in Belgium, he was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran, a computer technology expert and member of Calvary Chapel Hilo.
Friends may call at noon July 8 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion for an interment service. Friends may call at 11 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Hilo for memorial services. A service will also be held in California.
He is survived by wife, Stephanie McCurdy-Pearson of Keaau; sister, Chantal (Larry) Hathman-Hearon of Texas; brother, Milton Pittman of Carson, California; daughters, Monique (Greg) Butler of San Diego, Rashan Pearson of Humboldt, California and Jeanine Pearson of Kent, Washington; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Roy Koi
Roy Hideo Koi, 81, of Naalehu, died June 15, 2022, at his residence. Born in Ola’a, he was the retired owner of Roy’s Fisheries.

Schanen Tomas, 66, of Waimea, died May 17, 2022. Born May 5, 1956 in Hawaii, he worked for Hamakua Sugar Co., Costco, H.I.S. Tires and was a musician.

Charles Harris
Charles Alois Harris, 83, of Hilo died June 16, 2022, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Pierre, South Daokota, he was a retired musician and U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by sons, Charles Harris of Portland, Oregon, Tony (Fronda) Harris of Hilo and Patrick (Dorene) Harris of Klamath Falls, Oregon; daughters, Margie (David) Mallia of San Lorenzo, California, Hilda (Craig) Just of Cumberland, Wisconsin, and Kathy (James) Dennis of Barron, Wisconsin; brother, John (Donna) Harris of Washington; sister, Mary Moffatt of St. George, Utah; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
